On Project Management

True leadership is an art that combines exceptional analytical talent with the art of teaching highly intellectual individuals the right path to jointly move to success. In practice the term project management refers to two complementing elements: project administration and project leadership. Both are necessary for moving forward but fulfil different tasks. Their respective nature and target are so distinct that they also require different mentality to do the job.

Project administrators are there to preserve the status quo of your organization and to make sure that the set rules are respected. Project leader need to guide the team through unknown and undiscovered territory and find save and successful ways to target. Leaders move forward where administrators pull the break.

Great leaders are compared to the legendary silver back man ape; a leader is always a smart, serene and patient alpha animal who has a life-time of experience in diverse areas to sense the areas of extreme risk, who protects his team against foreign attacks, who breaks the rule without causing collateral damage and who has a natural charisma that makes the team comfortable in following its leader. And a leader is always a teacher and practices with the team common behaviour and strategy to accomplish the mission.
